Our established Academy for Housebuilders is a free annual programme of workshop-style modules hosted by our residential development specialists.
How is the Academy structured?
The Academy is delivered over the course of 12 months, beginning in September to align with most housebuilders’ graduate intakes. This ensures that we can introduce those at the beginning of their careers in the housebuilding industry to the legal aspects of residential development.
Since the end of the pandemic, we have been hosting the Academy by delivering some modules virtually and some modules in person. We will now look to deliver as many of the Academy sessions in person as possible, either held at our regional offices or a location within close proximity to our regional offices.
What is covered?
The Academy follows the ‘lifecycle’ of a residential development site, guiding delegates through the legal process of buying land in easy and practical terms; from heads of terms all the way through to the last plot sales on-site and ensuring an effective exit for the housebuilder.
Who should attend?
We welcome all staff in our clients’ land, planning and technical teams but find that graduate recruits and those team members who are in the first few years of their career find the ‘back to basics’ overview that the Academy provides most useful.
How to join?
To join our Academy for Housebuilders, please register your interest and we will send you a personal invite once dates have been released for the next Academy programme. Alternatively, if you would like further information about the Academy, please email events@gateleyplc.com.
