Rachel works as a professional support lawyer supporting the learning and development of the pensions team and ensuring that members of the team are kept up-to-date with legal and regulatory developments and changes in market practice. She has experience in a wide range of pension-related matters including scheme funding, derisking, winding-up, drafting governing scheme documents, and dispute resolution.
As part of her professional support lawyer role Rachel manages the firm’s pensions know-how, is responsible for writing updates and articles for publication, producing external client training materials and running internal training.
Prior to working as a professional support lawyer, Rachel worked as a legal director in the pensions team where she advised on occupational pension schemes encompassing a wide range of pension-related matters.Â
Rachel is a full member of the Association of Pension Lawyers. She is also a trustee governance director of Entrust Pension Limited, a leading independent professional trustee company which helps organisations operate their pension schemes effectively, and an accredited professional pension trustee. - Consolidating and updating a pension scheme’s trust deed and rules.Â
- Advising on the closure of pension schemes to future accrual.
- Advising on pension scheme buy-out.
- Advising on dispute resolution.
- Providing professional support lawyer services on all aspects of pensions law, regulatory and industry practice matters including the Pensions Regulator’s general code of practice and a revised defined benefit funding regime.
