Expertise
James is an experienced chartered building surveyor and construction manager and has spent his career working for both commercial building surveying consultancies and loss adjusting companies including the likes of Cunningham Lindsey and Crawford & Company.
James has considerable experience in the project management of major and complex insurance losses, defect analysis and supporting loss adjusters and insurance clients with technical advice and quantum validation.
As part of his role, he manages a team of surveyors located nationally and is a regular referral point for technical matters and cost enquiries.

I help clients overcome technically complex matters by incorporating methodical approaches which in turn ensures projects are delivered to the satisfaction of all stakeholders whilst maintaining rigorous cost control.
Experience
- Project managing a complex solution features matter in Reading, directing and organising throughout the lifecycle of the project.
- Advising on scope and quantum in respect to a fire at a grade II listed building (£1m).
- Undertaking design, specification, contract administration and CDM duties on a flood damaged property which incorporated flood resilience measures (£750,000).
- Managing complex subsidence claims in the southeast involving the mitigation of third party and local authority vegetation.
- Advising on quantum cost and scoping advice in respect to a large industrial fire (£3m).
