Inspiring the next generation of lawyers

Earlier this week, solicitor, Shiv Nand and trainee solicitor, Nikki Siddal from our Nottingham office were joined by responsible business manager, Andlyn White, and emerging talent assistant, Lucy Cundale, on a visit to Bilborough College to talk to students during their Work-Related Experience and Progression Week.

The team delivered three career insight talks to a total of over 100 law and criminology students. The session covered an introduction to Gateley and our sector, legal pathways and real-life insight of a career in law from Shiv and Nikki.

Andlyn said, “Being involved in school outreach programmes is vital as it has the potential to inspire and positively impact a young person’s future. It was great to see that at the end of each of our sessions, a handful of students would chat directly to either Shiv, Nikki, or Lucy to gain further insight and advice. While a career in law might not be for everyone, it is important to give all young people the chance to be exposed to different opportunities to get a good understanding of what their future career might look like”.
