Gateley publishes its first Responsible Business Report
Gateley, the legal and professional services group, announces that it has published its first Responsible Business report. The report is available on our website here.
Gateley's Responsible Business report shows the action the Group has undertaken to date in respect of its environmental, social and governance (ESG) strategy. The Group has set targets for the next 12 months to move the business forward in each of the identified areas and will measure its performance on a quarterly basis.
This includes some important strategic partnerships including signing up to the Better Business Act, Halo Code and Mindful Business Charter as well as a partnership with the UK's leading ESG strategy and campaigns consultancy, This is Purpose.
This is Purpose, led by Rt Hon Justine Greening was established with input from businesses, universities, civil society and MPs and has set out 14 Levelling Up Goals, using the same framework as the UN Sustainable Development Goals, and clear objectives for the UK's Levelling Up challenge in the wake of COVID-19. Gateley's Responsible Business report outlines the work the Group has delivered to date and its objectives for the coming year in respect of each Levelling Up Goal, categorised as goals which impact on People, Potential and Planet.
Rod Waldie, Chief Executive Officer commented: "As a listed business, delivering results is a must. However, for Gateley, this is not just about delivering a strong financial performance. As a signatory to the Better Business Act, we believe that we can be a force for good, benefiting our people, clients, communities, and the environment, whilst also delivering good returns for our shareholders. By fulfilling our potential in these key areas we will be an employer of choice, a more attractive investment opportunity, an organisation with whom clients are proud to collaborate, and a truly responsible business."
