We are excited to confirm that entries are now open for this year’s UK Sports Law Competition (UKSLC). The competition will take place on Friday 14 June 2024 at the iconic Etihad Stadium, home to Manchester City Football Club.
How does it work?
At the UKSLC, students will compete in teams of two and will be tested on their ability to think commercially when faced with fictitious topical legal problems within the sports industry. The panel of judges will be made up of professionals from across the sports industry including lawyers, CEOs, commercial managers and directors representing a spectrum of sporting companies/ organisations.
What can students win?
There will be attractive prizes for the students including work experience in our Gateley Legal business.
It is also a great networking opportunity for students and will look great on their CVs, particularly when applying for training contracts.

Negotiation masterclass overview
This short masterclass is designed to give attendees a brief introduction to some of the key components of negotiation.
The masterclass will examine the different types of negotiation, how to identify them and how to adjust one’s behaviour in order that is appropriate to the situation. Attendees will also be introduced to the differences between selling and negotiation and how to trade conditionally, which will allow them to maximise what they take from their negotiations.
Everyone will leave the masterclass with something that they will be able to use immediately.
